Walking in Yehovah’s Love: The Compassion of Yeshua”
“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.” (Luke 6:36, KJV)
As I reflect on the life and teachings of our beloved Yeshua, I am reminded of His unwavering commitment to demonstrating the compassion and love of Yehovah. In a world filled with hurt and injustice, Yeshua’s actions were a beacon of hope, showing us what it means to truly live out our faith.
One of my favorite examples of this is found in Luke 7:36-50, where we see Yeshua dining at the home of a Pharisee. As He reclines at table, a woman from the street comes in and begins to anoint His feet with precious oil. The Pharisee is scandalized by her actions, but Yeshua sees the love and devotion behind them.
And so, He tells the parable of the two debtors (Luke 7:41-43), illustrating how we are all deeply indebted to Yehovah for His mercy and grace in our lives. The woman who anointed Him had clearly experienced this kind of love and was responding in gratitude, while the Pharisee remained bound by his own self-righteousness.
As followers of Yeshua, let us strive to walk in the same compassion and love that He demonstrated towards others. May we be like the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), who saw the need and responded with kindness and generosity. And may our lives be a reflection of Yehovah’s heart for humanity.
Let me tell you about the time I met a man named John, who had been struggling with addiction and was on the verge of losing everything. He had hit rock bottom and was desperately seeking help. I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with him, and as we talked, I could see the weight of his struggles beginning to lift.
As we went through the Bible together, I pointed out passages like Matthew 11:28-30, where Yeshua says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” John’s eyes lit up as he realized that Yeshua was speaking directly to him. And in that moment, he gave his life to Yehovah.
As John began to follow Yeshua, I saw a transformation take place within him. His heart became softer, and his actions more compassionate towards others. He started volunteering at our local food bank, helping those in need, and demonstrating the love of Yehovah in practical ways.
This reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, which says, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, Is not easily provoked, Thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.” John’s life was a living embodiment of these characteristics, and I am so grateful to have witnessed his transformation.
As we continue to walk in Yeshua’s love, let us remember that compassion is not just about feeling sorry for others; it’s about taking action. We must be like the prophet Micah (Micah 6:8), who says, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Yehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
In other words, we must strive to live justly, show compassion towards others, and walk humbly before Yehovah. And as we do, may our lives be a reflection of His heart for humanity.
May this day be filled with opportunities to show Yeshua’s love and compassion to those around us. May we be like the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), who saw the need and responded with kindness and generosity. And may our lives be a reflection of Yehovah’s heart for humanity.
As we conclude this blog post, let me remind you of Ephesians Chapter 4 Verses 11 through 2, which says:
“Wherefore I say unto you, that they speaketh (not) from the spirit; but out of the flesh: for corruption (of the flesh) causeth them to be at variance with one another. But ye were not so. For as a goodly vessel (of clay), and a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for the use of Yehovah, and prepared (unto every good work).”
